Students entering grades 9 – 12 are eligible for enrollment at the International High School of New Orleans. Applications for the 2012-13 academic school year will be accepted from January 3, 2012 until April 2, 2012.
As a Type-2 Charter School, enrollment is open to all Louisiana residents. Admission is limited and is on a first-come, first-served basis to students who qualify by application followed by a face-to-face meeting. Each grade is designed to accommodate 125 students. IHS expects to reach its full capacity of 500 students in the 2012-2013 school year.
The International High School of New Orleans offers the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme to eligible eleventh (11th) grade students. We are the first and only high school in New Orleans to offer this world renowned prestigious program. Additionally, IHS is a Bard College satellite campus. Both the IB and Bard programs allow our students to benefit from the opportunity to enroll in college and high school classes simultaneously.
Eligible students can choose to enroll in rigorous “IB” preparation courses in ninth grade. These advanced level classes move at an instructional pace similar to the International Baccalaureate Programme. Students are exposed to oral, written and performance assessments in each academic area and are required to maintain a “B” (3.0) or better grade point average. Students seeking to apply for the IHS IB preparation classes are encouraged to call Ms. Foley, school counselor at 504.613.5704 for more information about this program.
We also offer a full range of extra curricular after school programs/clubs (cheer leading, dance, band, BETA, Honor Society, Yearbook, culinary, etc.) and athletics (basketball, volleyball and soccer).
