The mission of the IHSNO Student Support Team is to provide all students with a comprehensive school counseling program that encourages the highest level of student achievement through individual growth in academic, career, and personal/social domains. In partnership with teachers, administrators, parents and our community, the school counselors will aim to help all students to be successful lifelong learners and productive, compassionate global citizens.
The School Counselor, Ms. Margaret Foley, helps students plan a challenging course schedule and advises students on how to achieve their goals. The school counselor has information on which tests students should take and how to get on the right track for careers and individual goals that interest the student.
The College Counseling Office, run by Ms. Kate Massey is designed to educate students and parents about the many post-secondary options available to them. Through many years of experience in the college guidance field and the exclusive use of Naviance/Family Connection, a comprehensive college guidance software program, the College Counseling team strives to match students to appropriate schools based upon interests, ability and academic record.
Our Social Worker, Mrs. Rosara Ortiz-Riley, provides comprehensive social work services to students, parents, and the school. The social worker promotes regular school attendance of students through on-going attendance monitoring at school, counseling with students and their parents, and consulting with school personnel regarding the effectiveness of the school’s attendance incentive plan.
