Students & Family

Dear Parents and Guests,

WELCOME TO THE FUTURE OF EDUCATION IN NEW ORLEANS!

I want to express a hearty Bienvenue, Bienvenido …to the newest educational reform in our city and one of the most unique strategies in the country.

Our mission is academically rigorous: Prepare globally competitive graduates that are college ready and technologically competent. We base our mission on the following strategies:

Globally Competitive: Your student will learn the strategies of International Business; fluency in at least one foreign language; acquire a respect for diversity and international cultures; get a first hand experience in corporate America through job shadowing, mentorships and apprenticeships; and receive instruction by a multinational, diverse staff.

College Ready: Your student will be offered advanced placement courses; an International Baccalaureate opportunity; instruction by staff that will be professionally developed in the latest literacy strategies, brain based instruction, and what it means to have an international focus; and a daily advisory will be offered along with enrichment clubs and service learning community projects.

Technologically Competent: Your student will be permitted to use a school laptop in some of his/her classes (depending on the lesson of the day). Teachers also have access to a computer lab where they can bring their classes for special computer based projects/assignments. Research projects will be common. Our technology practices by 12th grade will follow strategies used in colleges. Our technological program will also update parents regularly through email and other communications.

Our VIBE Board (Voices in International and Business Education) and our staff welcome you.

Thank You,

The Board and Staff of the International High School
Anthony Amato, Head of School
