Section 7.01       My IB and the Programme Resource Center

 

The MyIB is a website sponsored by the IBO where countless IB publications and resources are stored. The major uses for the occ are to locate IB publications (such as subject guides and curriculum documents), access interactive forums, and search for teacher-generated resources. The IB Coordinator manages MyIB account login information for school personnel. For more information regarding My IB see Appendix V.[1] 

 

Section 7.02       IB Information Systems (IBIS)

 

IBIS stands for the International Baccalaureate Information System and is primarily used by a school’s IB Coordinator. IBIS is used to register candidates for examinations, enter predicted grades and IA marks, access the e-Coursework portal, account management for school personnel for IBIS and the occ, access the IB Library, among other things. IB Coordinator’s should register senior teachers in IBIS by February 1st of the school year.

 

Section 7.03       ManageBac

 

ManageBac is the online platform used by DP students and core coordinators to track and store writing for the CAS and EE processes. The IB Coordinator should ensure that the CAS Coordinator and the EE Coordinator have login and admin access to ManageBac. Either of these coordinators and update student information on ManageBac before the beginning of each school year. Renewing of the ManageBac contract occurs each November.

 

Section 7.04       IB Student Registry

 

The IB Student Registry is a new service provided by the International Baccalaureate (IB) to connect IB students with the world’s leading universities & colleges. The IB Student Registry allows students to enter self-reported academic, extracurricular, college-interest and IB-specific information into a database accessible to universities and colleges seeking to identify potential applicants for recruitment to their campus. The information would be presented in a manner that highlights and explains the unique qualities of IB students that are valuable to admissions officers.

 

The IB Student Registry has 3 functions:

- connects IB students and schools with universities to facilitate recruitment efforts,

- provides information on universities’ IB recognition policies (course credit!!), and

- showcases profiles of IB World Schools.

Section 7.06       IB Accounts

 

Certain IB assessments or samples of assessments must be mailed to various locations. Domestic shipping should be sent through FedEx and records of tracking numbers kept. International shipping should be mailed through DHL. IHSNO account information for each account should be shared with and can be obtained from the Finance Department.

 

Section 7.07       Student Internet Use

 

Internet will be required for many assignments for students in the IB Programme, as well as for the research component of the Extended Essay. Although IHSNO realizes that not all students may have internet access at home, it is essential that students are able to access a library or nearby university where an internet connection is available. International High School of New Orleans of New Orleans has laptops and internet available at the school, and students can make arrangements with a teacher to stay after school.
