Gail Medford is a native of New Orleans, Louisiana and an alumnae of Xavier University of
New Orleans, the University of South Carolina, and the University of Maryland @ College
Park, where she received her B.A in Communication Arts, M.A. in Acting and Ph.D. in Public
Communications: Theatre Education, respectively. As a former military spouse, she enjoyed
opportunities to engage in different theatrical venues, as well as serve as a faculty member
and administrator at several two-year and four-year institutions across the USA. In addition
to teaching and developing theatre and speech curricula, her higher education experiences
included chairing a Department of Fine and Performing Arts, directing university faculty
development, coordinating university-wide student learning assessment, and directing a
university Office of Research, Planning and Accountability. After 35 years in higher
education, Gail is now retired and enjoying time to engage in volunteer work and writing.
She is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and the National Association for
Dramatic Speech Arts.
