About
The International High School of New Orleans (IHSNO) was a public, college preparatory charter school founded in 2009. IHSNO was the first high school in New Orleans offering students the opportunity to participate in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP). The IBDP is recognized and respected by the world’s leading universities for its ability to encourage students to think broadly, beyond the boundaries of their communities, and to develop the intellectual, personal, emotional and social skills needed to live, learn and work in a global economy. Students in the IBDP are more likely to get university acceptance, qualify for scholarships, and succeed in their post-secondary educational endeavors. Through the IBDP, IHSNO students gain excellent breadth and depth of knowledge, excel in their academic subjects, and thrive intellectually, emotionally and ethically.
Since opening in 2009, IHSNO has proudly provided a globally-focused education to thousands of graduates as one of only four International Baccalaureate programs in the greater New Orleans area. At the end of the 2024-2025 academic school year (June 30, 2025), IHSNO closed its doors. We remain honored to have served our community over the past 15 years.
